Strolling Magic at a Cocktail Party

There are many environments that are conducive to a strolling magic performance. A backyard party, a hospitality suite, an open house, but one of the most frequent performances is the cocktail party.

This can be for a private family party of a few dozen or a corporate opening night welcome event of hundreds. The strolling magic performance lends itself to a short engagement of 1 to 10 individuals or sometimes a few more, allowing them to share an unusual and inexplicable experience, that will generate conversation for the remainder of the evening.

There are several positives for having the strolling magic performance. The performance comes to them, accommodates those with keen interest as well as those who choose to drift away to another conversation. It can be quite intimate or open up to a small crowd if necessary.

Those that might not be well know to each group can be brought in by way of assisting the magician with a trick or being made the center of attention themselves. Their names are announced, connections to the group or giver of the party delivered so introductions are now complete. Following the performance they are now IN rather than on the periphery of the group.

Additionally,the performances are dutifully short, allowing the group to continue their verbal intercourse once the performance ends, but also allows for a revisit to those that especially enjoyed it later on as time permits.

There are a few challenges for the strolling magic performer. The Approach to the group without appearing intrusive. The Opening Effect, geared to grab the attention of all and get them to want to see more. Maintaining Control in a fluid environment where guests feel free to come and go from the performance stage.

To some who have not experienced an intense engaging magic performance, the thought of “magic tricks” might seem trivial and not worth their attention. It is the Magicians job to quickly engage them and show them this performance/experience is worth their valuable time.

Once all of these factor come together the experience is Magical.
